MULTICULTURAL HUB
Keli Adelaide is working on the design and implementation of a "Multicultural Hub" in Adelaide for providing a place for malayalees and members of other communities to get together, which will be like
- a neighbourhood house or tea stall "Chayakkada" (Similar to those we have in our villages in Kerala)
- a friendly place where people from Adelaide's many different cultures can get together and work, share and learn in a safe and supportive environment.
The Multicultural Hub Offers
- A central meeting space - rooms for 10-50 people
- Community Garden (Keli Garden) to grow vegetables and fruits, mostly the one's used by malayalees
- Community kitchen & Tea shop (Chayakkada)
- Subsidised rates for community groups and not for profits
- Open 5 days a week
- Activities for individuals and community groups
- Kerala style tea and snacks (Once in a week)
- Community market - vegetables and fruits (Once a Month)
- Community library and reading room
- Discussions and topic presentations (Once a month)
- Youth focussed programs
- Child care centre
- Other cultural events.
This project is just in the designing stage. We welcome like minded people to come forward and make this dream come true
